What is Mixing what is Mastering

MIXING is the process where you focus on how all instruments and sounds react with each other while fixing certain issues to improve the overall sound. In this process you can also enhance the sounds to have more clarity, as well as a sense that every element of the song is "glued". It is the process of working on improving every element of the track itself.

Then we have MASTERING. With this process we work with one file only, the mixed Stereo Bus we bounced from the mixing process.
The main focus now is to make sure the song translates well on many different speakers, from a BT mono speaker to a club or in a car.
This is the process where the song gains volume, and where you add the final finishing touches to fix the last few things you didn't while mixing.
Mastering makes the song sound more balanced and consistent.

Both of these processes are essential when creating a song, in order for the clarity, and overall sound quality to be good.

How to prepare a Mix to be Mastered

Please follow the suggestions below to allow me to give you the best results possible

1) Mastering is not a process to fix bad Mixes, for best results be sure to send me a proper mixed song
2) Do not use limiters or compressor in your stereo bus
3) Be sure your mix does not clip. Check both the global output (stereo bus) and all the individual tracks, to do not exceed the 0db. The more you can stay conservative the better chance nothing will clip -6db at max peak it's a good value.
4) Be 101% sure you are sending me the right final Mix, please check it multiple times
5) When you Bounce the Mix, be sure your plugin has the higher quality settings (Oversampling)
6) Send me a WAV file at 44100 16bit or higher
7) Give me a reference track you like, that sounds close to your song, and tell me why you have chosen this one so that I can understand what's factors I should consider, and what exactly you would like for me to focus on.
8) Let me know if you are aiming for a transparent master (no tonal balance changes, colours, but just fix and go for the loudness) or if you want me to do what i think it's the best for your song
9) If you have any thoughts, please feel free to share them with me! communication it's very important for the success of the end product

7) With my service your are not just hire me for my mixing skills, but also to have an unbiased pair of fresh ears.
You get used to your song after hours of listening, so it's possible the final Mix will sound way different from the production,
and this is something that someone don't like. So let me know if you trust me to shape your song as i think it sound better, or if you are just aiming for a very transparent mix that fix issues but will just sound as the production.

9) Be sure all the tracks you've recorded are alligned, and on time. This service does not include time allignment of your records.
10) Be sure your recordings are clean from noises, hum, hiss, DC, and artifact. Cleaning tracks is not part of mixing. I can do that but it will require an additional cost.
